We have been around since 1986, based at the Lawn Tennis and Squash Association premises in Cromer. We meet at 7.00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays welcoming runners of all standards from the not so fast to the fast and from the beginners to the ‘experts’ Our membership hovers at about 100 and our age range is from 18 to 80.

We do not ask newcomers to take up membership on first attendance but suggest they to run with us two or three times before making up their minds. North Norfolk is a popular tourist area so it is not unusual for holidaymakers to drop in and join us for an evening and, occasionally, somebody on business in the area will ‘escape’ for a run.

Currently we have a coaching staff of six (two of level 2 and four of level 1) and our weekly sessions on the roads, the footpaths and the country (daylight permitting) and the beach (tides permitting) are geared to the abilities of our members.

Each year we hold six handicap races from which points are scored in relation to finishing positions. The points count towards a league table and prizes presented are at one of our Christmas functions.

The six races are –

5k        - Cromer

5m       - Hunworth

7m       - Holt

8.8m (approx) beach race – Mundesley

10k      - Cromer

10m     - Cromer

The handicap series is an in-house competition but visitors are welcome to join in.

We organise two annual races for the public – the North Norfolk 7 mile race in October (starting and finishing in Holt) and the popular and usually over-subscribed Worstead 5 mile race in July; the latter is a part of the Worstead Festival.

We have a good track record of taking part in the Round Norfolk Relay and our picture above shows some of the members of our two teams entered in 2008.

Should you happen to be in Cromer over Christmas you could join us for our annual Boxing Day dip in the sea; this is one of the club’s strongest traditions. We nominate a local charity each year and our official bucket collections have raised thousands of pounds.
